The New York artist has led a full musical life starting with her grandmother, Maria Leone, a former soprano at the Metropolitan Opera who gave Gianna her first vocal lesson aged 9. She was raised by classical musicians and began writing while at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee School of Music.

In Made Whole, Gianna Alessi’s dulcet coo coats a sound that’s retro yet fresh. She incorporates a range of genres as she sings about feeling good about herself, “with myself I’m never alone”.
