ASHS Releases Her “Anti Love Song” ‘More Than Friends’

By Alexandra ChrysostomouSeptember 6, 2018

Taken off her debut EP 3AM Pt. 1, Toronto-based ASHS describes her catchy new tune ‘More than Friends’ as an ‘anti-love song,’ giving her take on modern dating and all the troubles that come with it. Through the telling lyrics, ASHS voices her contentment with being alone and asserts her position as an independent woman, singing “Don’t wanna love anybody but myself, I’m all I need, don’t need no help from you.”

The warm, hearty vocals are mixed with a combination of pop and electronic beats, giving us the perfect seasonal transition track to ease into the colder months. ASHS’ youthful melody is layered underneath lyrics with a darker, more adult tone, providing a contrast that makes ASHS a unique contender in today’s squeaky-clean world of pop. ASHS has been flying under the radar for a while now, but will soon be one to watch.

‘More Than Friends’ is the perfect musical dialog to empower, inspire and motivate us all to be more independent, kicking off the new season with a bang.
