Video Premiere: ‘Thinking Wrong’ By Porteous
“Cos I’m thinking wrong”
‘Thinking Wrong’ is the latest video from PORTEOUS, a 20-year-old musician from Essex whose influences range from indie, pop, and jazz, Foals to Radiohead. The visuals are very creative, portraying a type of video diary / lyric video that reflects the delicate indie-jazz song perfectly.
Ben Porteous is an interesting artist who produces, writes, performs and is a multi-instrumentalist. His debut, ‘Vibe With You’ was released earlier this year and picked up the ‘Producers Pick’ on BBC Introducing Essex. ‘Thinking Wrong’ is set to follow suit with its eclectic style and explosion of jazzy keys amongst raw vocals and heartfelt tone. The visuals reflect the change in pace as PORTEOUS becomes more erratic in his diary-writing, doodling, crossing out and even tearing out pages. The visuals alongside show him drinking in bed and passing out.
“Bitter in the moment
Much Better left behind
The pieces of a piece of mind
Before these open eyes.”
‘Thinking Wrong’ is a collaborative project pulling from various genres but is easily accessible and very enjoyable.
