‘Somewhere Else’ Is An Intimate New Video From Alice Ella

By Lucy LernerOctober 4, 2019
Alice Ella

“This song is for anyone who wants to escape from themselves, escape from everyday life and feel freedom“

Today Alice Ella unveils the beautiful visuals to her sensual new single ‘Somewhere Else’. It’s a hook-studded dreamy pop song filled with light but with darker undertones.

The track is produced by Scott Stoddart (one half of the well known production duo ‘Dasco’) features two remixes – a ‘future house’ mix by Jeff Nang and an ‘alternative mix’ by Uncon.

Alice discusses her new release, “When I was writing the song, I wanted to get across the feeling of being so immersed within the intimacy of a relationship that I would forget everything else going on in my life, even if just for a moment. I was able to escape my own body and feel like nothing else mattered. The song is about my personal journey of recovery from chronic ill health, when I longed to escape the prison my own body had become. I hope that it will connect with people going through dark times and this song is for anyone who wants to escape from themselves, escape from everyday life and feel freedom.“

The music video brings the lyrics to life and features live video footage projected onto Alice’s body, cutting to vintage shots that
represent escapism and freedom. The visuals conjure many thoughts and feelings from freedom to nature to intimacy within a relationship.

The song and the video enhance the feeling of wanting to be ‘Somewhere Else’ – with her stunning vocals and refreshing songwriting Alice Ella is getting us excited for what’s next.
