Lauren Ray’s New Single ‘Irreplaceable’ Is A Slice Of Sunshine

By Lucy LernerFebruary 4, 2019

Lauren RayLauren Ray returns with her timeless new single which provides some sunshine into a cold and wet month. ‘Irreplaceable’ is the first single from her forthcoming second album, ‘Woman In The Arena’ which is out via SR Records this May. The new song is produced by Julian Emery (Lissie/ Nothing But Thieves) and mixed by Cenzo Townsend (George Ezra, Florence & The Machine). Showing a different side to the UK singer-songwriter it is carefree and upbeat.

Lauren Ray describes her new track, “Whilst the verses tell the story of a previous relationship, the choruses and overall message is about finding someone who makes you feel completely irreplaceable” says Lauren. “Working closely with Julian on the style of this song was an absolute dream. He really helped capture the mood I was looking for. For my second album I was really keen on exploring a more pop production and wanted to push myself both as a writer and performer. Whilst ‘Irreplaceable’, along with all the new songs were still written sitting at my piano, I just knew that I wanted to present them with this completely different energy.”

‘Irreplaceable’ follows Lauren’s 2018 EP ‘Inside This Silence‘ and she had a busy rest of the year with an extensive touring schedule supporting Rebecca Ferguson and playing at her biggest venues yet, including the 02 Shepherds Bush Empire and Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Her most recent tour was supporting Anastacia on her European tour in summer 2018, including shows in Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. Lauren will be on the road over the next few months with Paul Carrack opening for his massive 30 date tour, which includes a night at the London Palladium and Liverpool Philharmonic.

Lauren’s album ‘Woman In The Arena’ is out in May and you can pre-order it now.
