‘Change,’ A New Classic From Wesley Gonzalez

By Marcus AdetolaFebruary 17, 2020
Wesley Gonzalez

Wesley GonzalezFew tracks today encapsulate the spirit of the 80s as vividly as Wesley Gonzalez’s ‘Change’ which reminds me of a stripped-back version of the 80s group the ABC’s ‘The Look of Love’.

At the same time, there is an authenticity to the feeling the track evokes. You sense in his eccentricity, one might say a disconnect, from the general view of what indie-pop is today.

‘Change’ is Gonzalez’s first single since releasing his 2017 debut album ‘Excellent Musician’ which he describes as “pre-therapy” and his upcoming summer album release is “post-therapy” which makes us intrigued for what he has in store.

Wesley Gonzalez is fearless and unapologetic in his performance in the video. ‘Change’ feels like a modern-day classic.

Gonzalez ‘s new album ‘Appalling Human’ is released via Moshi Moshi Records on 12th June 2020. You can pre-order it here.
