Richard Rourke’s Some Days Is a Soulful Reflection Wrapped in Vintage Warmth

Richard Rourke’s Some Days Is a Soulful Reflection Wrapped in Vintage Warmth

Richard Rourke taps into the golden era of soul on Some Days, a track that blends deep grooves, honeyed vocals, and a touch of nostalgia.

With a sound reminiscent of ’70s soul and funk, it carries the warmth of vinyl spinning on a turntable—smooth, immersive, and effortlessly timeless.

The instrumentation is rich yet understated, giving Rourke’s vocals the space to resonate with clarity and emotion.

The track’s steady rhythm and fluid basslines create a comforting, reflective space, making it easy to get lost in the melody.

“It holds a special meaning for me personally because it stems from the realization that I don’t need to fight my own anxiety, rather I need to become one with it in order to teach it that it can’t control me,” Rourke explains.

The chorus delivers a moment of clarity:

“Some days I feel lonely, is that alright with you?
Some days I don’t know me, because I don’t have a clue.”

It’s a song about learning to sit with uncertainty rather than resisting it.

Some Days doesn’t force answers—it lets the music do the healing.

The first of five upcoming releases, it sets the tone for what’s to come. Stream it now.

Richard Rourke Some Days Lyrics

Some days I feel lonely, is that alright with you
Some days I don’t know me, because I don’t have a clue
We don’t have to move mountains just to see the truth
I just got a lot of things that I just want to work through

I just want a little bit of love for two
I’ll take you around just so you don’t have to wonder what I do

Please don’t take
Everything that I do
Please don’t wait
And I won’t take nothin’ from you
Like the sun and the moon
(Oh yeah, sun and the moon)

You have my mind in the palm of your hands
And I drew my line in the watery sand
Now it’s gone
But now I know
That we’re one
That ain’t so bad
It’s a home, where you make your own bed
And you lay, just to rest your weary head

I just want a little bit of love for two
I’ll take you around just so you don’t have to wonder what I do
I just want a little bit of love for two
I’ll take you around just so you don’t have to wonder what I do
I just want a little bit of love for two
I’ll take you around just so you don’t have to wonder anymore
