Emmrose’s Electric Nights Is A Nostalgic Journey Through Unrequited Love

Emmrose's Electric Nights is A Nostalgic Journey Through Unrequited Love

In Electric Nights, the indie-pop sensation from Brooklyn, Emmrose, has crafted a song that is deeply personal and relatable.

It’s a nostalgic journey through the highs and lows of young love, wrapped in a dreamy synth-pop package.

She has joined forces with fellow indie artist Richard Orofino, a collaboration that has proven to be a match made in synth-pop heaven.

Electric Nights was born out of a partnership that began in 2020 under the auspices of Secret Road music label.

Their previous collaborations, ‘Afterlife’ and ‘Ragdoll’, were just a taste of the magic that these two can create together.

The track is a dreamy, synth-laden homage to 80’s pop music, with a heavy dose of reverb-drenched guitars and drums that would make any fan of Beach House or Cigarettes After Sex swoon.

The song’s cinematic lyrics are a product of Emmrose’s vivid imagination, painting a picture of a John Hughes-style high school drama, complete with prom night heartbreak and unrequited love.

Emmrose’s vocals are the star of the show, delivering a performance that is both haunting and ethereal.

Her voice, layered over the dreamy instrumentals, creates a sense of nostalgia and warmth that transports listeners back to their own high school days.

The lyrics tell a story of hope, rejection, and resilience. The protagonist, a hopeful romantic, faces the harsh reality of unrequited love at prom.

The chorus, “Caught up in electric nights / I’d be by your side / But you didn’t want my heart / Oh you ripped me down to the bone / I’m all alone / Guess I’ll just drive home“, is a poignant reflection of the protagonist’s heartbreak, delivered with a raw emotion that is palpable.

Electric Nights was expertly mixed and mastered by Mike Abiuso at Behind the Curtains Media, marking another successful collaboration with Emmrose.

The track is a promising preview of what’s to come in Emmrose’s upcoming album Thorns, set to be released on August 22nd.
