’12 Months’ In The Life Of scott is okay

By Narzra AhmedAugust 30, 2019

Today rising artist scott is okay releases ‘12 Months’ his second single, following the successful ‘better’. His latest release sees scott is okay further creating his own brand of pop. It is music that is quite sombre in its tone and the track gives off lonely vibes, which are enhanced by the hazy synth sounds.

scott is okay’s debut single ‘better’ was played two weeks in a row by Huw Stephens on his BBC Introducing show. With support from BBC Introducing Birmingham and being selected for Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist, these are amazing achievements for a new artist who is yet to perform his first gig.

“’12 months is really about how much I hate change. I wrote this song when everything in my life was turning upside down; my friends were moving away, and I was moving house, finishing uni and had no idea what I was doing or where I was living. I loved my student house and student life and I don’t think I was that ready to jump the gun.”

New release ’12 months’ feels like a heavily personal track with scott is okay opening with, “I hate changing”. The chorus is quite catchy and has a bouncy beat, despite being simultaneously tranquil and ethereal.

scott is okay is an intriguing new artist and his new single ‘12 Months’ can be interpreted as an honest account of dealing with adulthood and broken relationships.
