Summer Has Arrived With Suzy Callahan's Edge Of The UniverseIt is refreshing to have artist Suzy Callahan break out onto the music scene where live, Folk music appears to have got lost amongst the influx of EDM and Tropical House trends. Like a true Folk singer and songwriter, similar to the “Central Reservation” era of Beth Orton’s critically acclaimed career, all Suzy needs is her acoustic guitar and soft, tender vocals, which wreak of Folktronica-bliss.

The best way to describe new single Edge Of The Universe taken from her album Not Exactly Sad is that of an indie ballad, performed in a similar style to Mercury Music Prize nominee Kathryn Williams.

Lyrics such as “hummingbirds, they hum their sound, butterflies will fly around” will instantly bring a smile to your face, as you are reminded that summer truly has arrived. This masterfully produced piece of music eventually builds up to an unexpected, energetic middle-8 section, with its break in live drums every time Suzy repeats the words “it goes like that” before the track mellows and ends where it started. In a subtle, peaceful place, consisting of Callahan’s laid-back voice and skilfully performed rhythm guitar.

Sit back, and relax to the chilled, acoustic sounds of Suzy Callahan on her new song Edge Of The Universe.
