Romy Dya ‘So Over Lust’ Review: Retro-Tinted R&B, Close-Mic Intimacy

Romy Dya’s “So Over Lust” is late-night R&B pared to essentials: retro-tinted keys, unhurried drums, and a vocal placed close enough to feel confessional.
Co-written and produced with Will Gittens, the record moves from temptation to self-possession without raising its voice; more exhale than explosion.
She names the pattern and steps out of it: “I’m so done with… faking / I need so much more,” and, later, “I’m so over lust now… I’ma focus on me / ’Cause the love that I need is within.”
So Over Lust, released on 29 August 2025, slots neatly into Dya’s empowerment arc we’ve covered before on Neon Music, from “She” and “Let Love Heal” to last year’s “Aphrodite.”
Small, moody, and sync-ready, “So Over Lust” is the soundtrack to walking away with your calm intact.
