CassyetteCassyette might be reminiscent of a certain 80s pop frontwoman but she’s no carbon copy and smoothly bridges the gap between rock and 80s synth-pop. The eye-catching blonde has a sex-kitten look with an edge and admits her glam rock influences include 70s and 80s icons including Motley Crue, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Whitesnake and, of course, Blondie but she is also inspired by modern muses such as Yungblud, Haim and Royal Blood.

Today, the singer-songwriter and DJ releases her single ‘Jean’ which has a head-nodding intro before the delicious caramel vocals sink in followed by an angsty, singalong hook.

You look like a movie star from 1963 ,
I bet you could drive a car in circles around me,
Y
our hair falls perfectly like girls in magazines,
You look like a movie star,
I guess it’s in your genes.

Essex born, London-based Cassyette has an all-girl punk band and has supported Barns Courtney and Yonaka on their UK tours before even releasing any of her own music, mostly due to her strong online presence.

Following the release of ‘Jean’ Cassy will be unveiling another single ‘Devil Inside’ prior to her 5-track debut EP of the same name. This EP is a pop-rock dream with darker themes, a bouncy overlay and an appealing 80s electro-edge.

Cassyette stands out in a sea of Ariana, Halsey and Billie wannabes with her own imitable retro style.

You can see Cassyette performing at The Great Escape, Brighton on Saturday 11th May at 12 noon at Horatio’s on the pier.
