Natasha Hunt Lee Unpacks Unrequited Love in Reasons

Natasha Hunt Lee Unpacks Unrequited Love in 'Reasons'

LA-based artist Natasha Hunt Lee captures the messy reality of one-sided feelings in her debut single Reasons.

Co-produced with Brandon Shoop (ROLE MODEL, Quinn XCII), this lo-fi pop gem builds from gentle acoustic strums into a beautifully layered soundscape.

The track’s intimate production perfectly frames Lee’s raw observations about unrequited affection and the awkward dance of almost-relationships.

“People like to think that accepting something is the same as finding peace with it, but it’s not really as simple as that,” Lee shares, diving deep into that strange space between moving on and holding on.

Lee spills verses that feel like screenshots from everyone’s embarrassing phase – you know, the one where you’re buying specific perfumes just to get noticed.

When she admits “I’m cancelling a date tonight to hold you while you’re bored,” it’s the kind of vulnerability that makes you want to text your therapist.

Reasons marks the first glimpse of Lee’s upcoming album, suggesting she’s got plenty more emotional truths to spill.

Natasha Hunt Lee Reasons Lyrics

I’m selling all my shit to buy that fancy brown perfume
You hug me like a brother I can smell it when you do
You have your reasons and I have mine

I’m cancelling a date tonight to hold you while you’re bored
I don’t want his attention when I cosplay grabbing yours
You have your reasons and I have mine

And it means nothing
Until it doesn’t
I saw it coming
Until it wasn’t
I wouldn’t wait, you wouldn’t try
You have your reasons and I have mine

The star of my peripheral you’re giving her the show
I’ll clench until you walk away until the night you don’t
You have your feelings and I have mine
The psychic said you’re worth it just to get inside my purse
I just want you to want me I don’t wanna be preserved
You have your secrets and I have mine

And it means nothing
Until it doesn’t
I saw it coming
Until it wasn’t
I wouldn’t wait, you wouldn’t try
You have your reasons
And they mean nothing
Until it’s different
It feels like something
Until it isn’t
I wouldn’t ask, you wouldn’t lie
You have your reasons and I have mine

I’m choking on a lesson mouthing you should probably leave
You know that I don’t mean it, you can keep your set of keys
