On Little Sign, Zimbabwe-born, Leeds-raised, and Manchester-based artist Lei Hope captures the ache of emotional drift with a gentle precision.

The track explores the frayed bond between siblings—specifically, the emotional and physical distance from his younger brother—with a delivery that’s unforced and grounded.

There’s a vintage soulful quality stitched into the arrangement.

Warm, looped guitar lines and brushed percussion sit just beneath the surface, giving the track a subtle retro texture without losing its contemporary indie-R&B core.

It’s the kind of sound that nods to the past while still feeling current.

Hope’s vocals are smooth and conversational, drawing from R&B, hip-hop, and jazz. “I think I just needed a reset,” he says, referencing the clarity that came after returning to Manchester—a sentiment mirrored in the track’s open, reflective tone.

Co-produced with Will Levison and Hassan Kairi, Little Sign doesn’t rely on grand gestures. Instead, it lets stillness speak.

It’s a quiet meditation on connection, absence, and the silence that fills the space between them.
