London-based trio kid apollo is back with another captivating slice of alternative R&B on their new single, know where to find me.
The song is a tender and introspective reflection on the nuances of a budding relationship, accompanied by a self-directed video showcasing the stunning scenery of Scotland and London.
The track is set to appear on their upcoming project via Sweat Entertainment and features the smooth vocals of Jimmy HM, who delivers his lyrics with a poetic flair.
He sings about the subtle moments that make him fall for someone, such as feeling their hand sweat or noticing their nervousness.
The production, handled by the band and mixed by Joseph Hartwell Jones (FKA Twigs, Olivia Dean, FLO), is minimal and atmospheric, with acoustic guitars and distorted synths, creating a contrast between intimacy and distance.
The music video, which the band shot themselves, follows the story of a couple who meet at a party and embark on a road trip to Scotland.
They share moments of joy, vulnerability, tension, and uncertainty. The visuals capture the beauty of nature, the city, and the characters’ emotions.
Jimmy HM explains the inspiration behind the song and the video:
“This song talks about the more specific things that happen between two people. I’d usually approach the lyrics more vaguely, but it’s sometimes best to talk about the details as these are what actually distinguish the people you cross over time. Once we finished the track, we got quite a clear vision of what we wanted the video to look like. Half the video was shot in Scotland and the rest in London – it’s the first time we’ve ever really played with dialogue and properly weaving in a storyline into the video.”
