Eli Moon Faces His Demons In killmeinmysleep
Eli Moon faces his demons in killmeinmysleep. Luxuriate in the deep, bruised vocals and dulcet acoustics of the alt-R&B artist’s new single. The accompanying music video directed by Gareth Phillips was shot by Eli on his iPhone in his South London home. The concept of the visuals fits the mood and tone of the song and shows multiple Eli’s in his childhood bedroom, looking thoughtful. Shots including the blurred face and other 2 Eli’s arguing conjures many ideas. The child-like vocals echoing the lyrics also derive various connotations.
People try to kill me in my sleep
Thought it was a dream
But it happened again last week
Wondering is there something I should know
I been hearing voices
But the faces never show
killmeinmysleep doesn’t fit into a particular genre but it’s moving, introspective lyrics and gentle cadence are soothing.
“I wrote and produced ‘killmeinmysleep’ from the bedroom in my childhood home. The song is an introspective expression of both the inner turmoil I face everyday with not wanting to deal with people and
the self-sabotaging results of that behavior. With all that’s going on in the world today, I think it’s fair to say we have all found ourselves feeling claustrophobic and out of touch with reality and if this song can help ease the tension for just one individual, then I have done my job.” – Eli Moon
Eli Moon’s new single is very relatable and we’re excited to see what direction he takes next.
