Alexa Kate Confronts Heartbreak on again & again

By Marcus AdetolaApril 13, 2025
Alexa Kate Confronts Heartbreak on again & again

Alexa Kate has been featured before on Neon Music for her emotionally evocative songwriting, and again & again feels like another step in the right direction.

Built around delicate acoustic guitar and airy vocal layers, the track captures that dull ache of heartbreak that loops in your head long after the dust settles.

The production evolves with the mood—minimal at first, then gradually folding in reverb-soaked drums and layered textures that rise and fall with the tide of emotion.

“You broke me, like no one’s ever done,” Alexa sings, her voice striking that balance between pain and poise.

There’s a fragility in how she delivers each word, never overselling, just sitting with the feeling.

Written during a period of emotional reflection, Alexa explains, “It keeps happening / again and again and again”—a line that anchors the entire track in a kind of emotional déjà vu.

There’s no neat resolution here, only the looping of what was and what still lingers.

The song arrives after her first two shows of 2025 in NYC and LA, and previews her upcoming sophomore EP.

again & again isn’t loud—but it resonates.

Alexa Kate again & again Lyrics

Silence is so loud
And I can’t help my thoughts from shuffling in
So I’ll put myself in dark crowds
To try and distract myself from thinking it

I see a clock on the wall
And I just stare, feeling small
Cause I’m hoping the more time that passes
Is bringing me closer to answers

You broke me, like no one’s ever done
Like no one’s ever done
You brought me close, then locked me out
And I’m so not over it
I know just how this ends
Cause it keeps happening
Again and again and again

So nonchalant, you said you wanted
To make an impression on me
And wow, you did
’Cause I thought maybe you’d be
The one to change my reality

And now I see a clock on the wall
And I just stare, feeling small
Cause I’m hoping the more time that passes
Is bringing me closer to answers

You broke me, like no one’s ever done
Like no one’s ever done
You brought me close, then locked me out
And I’m so not over it
I know just how this ends
Cause it keeps happening
Again and again and again

I know I’m not the first girl to be left standing out in the cold
And I know I’m not the first girl to be crying on the floor alone
And I know this feeling won’t last but for now it’s the only feeling I know
And it’s hard to breath when you took all the air I needed and

Broke me, like no one’s ever done
Like no one’s ever done
You brought me close, then locked me out
And I’m so not over it
I know just how this ends
Cause it keeps happening
Again and again and again
