Larkins played their first sold out headline show in London last night in support of their new single TV Dream which has been released through Good Soldier Records. Hailing from Manchester, the band recently sold out a home show in the city’s 2000 capacity Albert Hall, which set a high bar of expectation for their performance.

Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen is a cosy little venue and shoulder to shoulder, the room was packed. Releasing their first single in 2015 the band has amassed a fan base that could be heard and seen through the screams and atmosphere of the crowd. Playing tracks including, ‘Something Beautiful’ and ‘Hit and Run’, the crowd threw back every word effortlessly which is impressive considering the band is only five singles down.

With a bolstering lighting show that changed depending on dynamics and rhythm, the band gave a show that is clearly being strengthened by support from industry members and loyal fans which was a pleasure to see. With shows played at SXSW and a whole bunch of live experiences under their belt – Larkins are certainly a band in motion and I hope that they can find a way to truly stick out from the expected.

Have a listen to the band’s recently released single TV Dream.
