Leonie Sherif releases her new EP ‘Nocturnal Wave’ today. The East London singer-songwriter brings some of her previous singles together such as ‘Exclusivity‘ and ‘Telepathy‘ as well as some new ones in a glossy package of old-school R&B with very modern slicks of experimental electronica. The textural instrumental background gives Sherif’s powerful vocals the freedom to soar and build to a pulsing peak.
‘Nocturnal Wave’ follows Leonie Sherif’s previous EP’s ‘These walls’ in 2014 and ‘These Walls The Remixes’ in 2015, both of which were highly praised. After a successful radio campaign which received the support of DJ Spoony with exclusive plays on ‘Rinse FM’ & ‘The Beat Ldn’ Sherif has released exciting remixes of previous singles and her third and final track from the EP ‘Equilibrium‘ was released in the form of a music video during the summer. It has continued to be a busy year for Leonie Sherif as she made a longlist nomination with the Unsigned Music awards for the Best Electronic Act and also had her first live radio interview on the Beat London 103.6FM.
We have previously described Leonie’s music as “blurring the genres with psychedelic electronic beats and icy synth stabs correlating with crystal sharp vocals. It is angsty, synth-heavy RnB with a feverish haze of glossy electronic rock.”
