Cass Miller’s ‘For nothing.’ is more than a sad love song. Listening to ‘For nothing.’ evokes feelings of euphoria even though it is a bag of tenuous emotions. It starts with piano played over distant, incomprehensible whispers, something akin to a primordial chant, I can’t seem to make out. As the song progresses, you can hear the sweet melody slowly creeping in. With a relaxed and masterful use of her voice, Cass Miller starts to sing. Her vocal sweeps in awakening your inner senses and setting you adrift on a utopian journey.

The ambient instrumentals amplify the feeling of euphoria. Though ‘For nothing.’ is a sad love song about giving everything in a failed relationship, it is not depressive. However, it’s exhilarating and you cannot help but love it.

My favourite part of the song comes in at 2.50 in a form of a mini breakdown of the song.

Cass Miller is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but now resides in Los Angeles, California. She is currently working on her debut project.
