ZADA Breath Away: A Sonic Rush of Sunlight and Memory

Ethiopian-born and Whistler-based, ZADA has quietly carved out her own alt-pop lane—equal parts nostalgia, soul, and shimmer.

Breath Away, produced by Chin Injeti and Brian West, marks her return after 2024’s Water In The Desert, and it moves like memory on fast-forward.

Recorded at HippoSonic, the alt-pop track is both intimate and panoramic—“Salt, sun, serenity, I’m feeling everything,” she sings, her tone crystalline yet textured.

It’s not just romantic—it’s elemental. “‘Breath Away’ is about the small infinities that people grant us and the echoes of their essence within us, how it takes your breath away,” ZADA explains. That line shapes the song’s entire emotional blueprint.

The production is crisp and intentional: arpeggiated synth lines flicker like sea light, while the driving rhythm section keeps a steady pulse beneath her airy melodies.

The tension lies in the song’s push and pull between motion and stillness, clarity and nostalgia.

“The last time I saw you we were dancin’ / Plays in my mind, thousand times”—it’s the kind of line that catches in your throat before it settles in your chest.

There’s a weightlessness to the sound, but the writing grounds it.

“Pain turns into light / If you let it / And I let it”—ZADA isn’t chasing escapism. She’s documenting transformation in real time, letting the beat build toward a quiet eureka.

As the first release since Water In The Desert, Breath Away feels like a second wind. Or maybe a reminder that sometimes, the smallest infinities leave the deepest imprint.

ZADA Breath Away Lyrics

Living in a far away place,
This is what beauty taste like,
I’ll find peace in not knowing,
In between, there’s a half life

Salt, sun, serenity,
I’m feeling everything,
These small infinities,
They take, take my breath away,

Take my breath away,
The last time I saw you we were dancin,
Plays in my mind, thousand times,
What a beautiful sight,
Pain turns into light,

If you let it,
And I let it,

Salt, sun, serenity,
I’m feeling everything,
These small infinities,
They take, take my breath away,
Take my breath away,

Salt, sun, serenity,
I’m feeling everything,
These small infinities, (small)
They take, take my breath away, (they take, my breath)
Take my breath away,(away)

(Away)
