Influenced by New Orleans’ vibrant music scene and historical ties to jazz, rising alternative pop artist Sari Jordan is poised to make her mark with the recent release of her much-awaited EP Sing to the Moon which is out now.
A 4-track symphony of emotions, the album is a bubbly wonderland of self-discovery, introspection, and tales of unrequited love. However, the release is far more than just a mere collection of tracks. Instead, it’s a mesmerizing odyssey that envelops the listener in a comforting embrace. It uniquely invites fans into a solitary world where vulnerability and strength harmoniously coexist.
Spanning compositions from 2021 to 2022, Sing to the Moon is a chronicle of Jordan’s life, punctuated by the highs and lows of juggling academics, a day job, and a fervent passion for music. Jordan reflects, “Making this record showed me how important it is to get to know yourself. I hope these songs create an immersive haven for people to be comfortable with spending time alone.”
Jordan’s eclectic yet authentic sound marries Norah Jones-like vocals with contemporary jazz-pop melodies. The result is music that’s both nostalgic and innovative. Candidly exploring and exposing her personal journey of conflict, healing, and closure, Jordan’s lyrical talent mirrors her own “learning-through-doing” philosophy. The alt-pop singer’s heartfelt wish is for her journey to resonate with her audience, ultimately freeing them from fearing the pangs of growth and the daunting prospect of embracing change.

- The title track, “Sing To The Moon,” is a heartfelt ode to New Orleans, infused with the timeless allure of traditional jazz.
- And finally, “Deep End” is a heartfelt ballad that seamlessly combines electronic elements with earthy undertones, drawing inspiration from Maggie Rogers, Phoebe Bridgers, and Andrew Bird.
Having started her musical journey after moving to Crescent City for college in 2018, Jordan’s immersion into New Orleans’ rich cultural tapestry soon manifested in her love affair with the great American songbook. The New Jersey native, known for her striking vocal range, from smoky-sweet soft notes to a powerful belt, soon found her rhythm, weaving her numerous influences into a beautiful mosaic that aligns with her own distinctive style. Among her many influences were music legends, including Lianne La Havas, Billie Holiday, and Nai Palm of Hiatus Kaiyote.
Described by many as raw, honest, and playfully bold, Jordan’s vocal talent commands attention. As she geared up for the release of her debut EP, she offered a tantalizing preview of her diary-inspired compositions.
