Premiere: Zikai Releases The Summery ‘Beach Day’
If this song doesn’t get you in the mood for summer and long, languid, hazy days then I don’t know what will. Zikai follows up her recent debut single with the glorious ‘Beach Day’ which shimmers with sun, light, and all that feels good. The sound of waves washing on the shore and a delicate intro makes you long for carefree, sun-slicked days. Fusing gentle RnB and electro-pop the melody coats your skin with warmth.
The talented Swedish singer-songwriter describes the track, “You remind me of a beach day, 99 degrees, hot like summer breeze. All I really need is a beach day” – this is really what the song is about. The hot summer breeze with the right company can make anyone fall in love” says Zikai.
Zikai’s (pronounced Zik-eye) songwriting credits already include writing for artists including Zara Larsson, Tayla Parx and Mullally as well as working with Grammy-winning producers GRADES, Fwdslxsh, and Levi Lennox. Earlier in the year, her collaboration with GRADES (Dua Lipa, Bastille, NAO) produced an epic remix of debut single ‘Mountain Peak’. Zikai has also been performing at Guldbaggen (Swedish Oscar Academy Awards), the Swedish equivalent Grammy Awards and more.
‘Beach Day’ is only a taster as Zikai has a full EP set for release in June and having heard a sneak preview I know listeners will love it. With enticing RnB melodies, silky vocals, and an overall mellow, romantic vibe she is sure to win many hearts.
If you’re booking your summer vacation, planning to go to music festivals or just chilling in your garden then ‘Beach Day’ is a must-have on your chilled, summer playlist. And Zikai a must-watch artist to have on your radar.
