“I want people to see every part of me, and Drunken Tears lets me show people my darker side.”

Vaeda Black Bewitches With ‘Drunken Tears’. With a vocal prowess way beyond her 18 years, Vaeda revels in her new single which throbs with soul but also has a dark, twisted quality. The childlike tinkling of the piano juxtaposes with slinky tones, jarring sound effects and mature lyrics.

“I’m so messed up, goddam f’d up. Pain is pleasure, when we’re together”

‘Drunken Tears’ has great cinematic presence and is filled with slow-burning darkness and longing which is somewhat psychedelic. Vaeda proves she can go from sweet to sinister at the flick of a switch.

“It is a story song, about luring someone into a bar, getting completely trashed, and fantasizing about murdering them. I’ve always viewed this piece like a siren song. I’m saying things that are terrifying but they’re delivered inside a simple and alluring melody.” – VAEDA

Vaeda’s new single is produced by Tiger Darrow, the award-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. ‘Drunken Tears’ is strangely intoxicating. You’re lured into sculptured vocals and a sweet melody but the lyrics and themes f*ck with your head. It’s a very ambitious song but truly delivers.
