Late Night Legacy Announces New Drummer

By Lucy LernerApril 27, 2018
Late Night Legacy Announces New Drummer

Yorkshire band Late Night Legacy has some sad yet exciting news to announce.

They have recently acquired a new drummer to complete their set of what we have previously described as ‘high octane’, fun and frivolous Rock music.

It is sad to say goodbye to a longstanding member who has been with the band since it’s conception three years ago, but these are also exciting and fresh new times for the four-piece group.

Andy Hounslow will be joining Ryan Kitto (vocals), Rob Orange (guitar), Kyle Metcalf (Bass) for one hell of an adventure!

Andy is originally from Sutton Coldfield near Birmingham and he moved to Leeds in 2010 to study Music Production at Leeds Beckett University.

He has been playing the drums for over 10 years in various bands with a mixture of styles including Indie, Funk and Ska.

He says he would class himself as a rock drummer but has always had a soft spot for funk.

Andy describes how this merging of unions came about, “Through a stroke of luck, I stumbled across the lads’ advert one day and followed the link to “Beat Up” on YouTube – I was instantly a huge fan. The musicianship, style and incredible song-writing really appealed to me, so I listened to the rest of their tracks and added them all to my playlists. I replied to the ad thinking I wouldn’t stand a chance so I’m really grateful they got in touch. After jamming with them, I thought even if I didn’t get offered the position, I’d still be a massive fan. Luckily though, I got the text to say they would like to offer me the position and I was the new drummer for Late Night Legacy! As you can imagine, this was followed by a fairly heavy head the next day after celebrating the good news.”

Since joining the energetic band, Andy has given them the opportunity to completely re-write and improve their set for the up and coming festival season.

Late Night Legacy is planning to release a new single and accompanying music video in the coming months.

Andy comments on this new opportunity,  “I’m really looking forward to throwing everything I have into this, creating some amazing music and playing great gigs with a cracking group of mates.”
