Krillz Drops A Summer Anthem With Boujee

By Marcus AdetolaJune 1, 2023
Krillz Drops a Summer Anthem with Boujee

North London’s very own colour-coded rapper, Krillz, is swiftly ascending in the UK rap scene, especially with a scorching new release, Boujee, a track that not only showcases his remarkable talent but also positions him as a force within the rap industry.

Krillz – Boujee (Official Music Video)

Boujee is an energetic track that combines striking brass horn production and catchy verses to fearlessly flex his success while coolly dismissing a girl more interested in his wealth than his personality. The lyrics are sharp and savvy, with lines such as “I don’t know why she’s actin’ boujee, cah all of her ex’s broke / It don’t make sense, did a background check she a next up hoe / No, you can’t come to the crib, when the parties done get sent back home / Next day man’s out tryna get this dough,” demonstrating astute wordplay and confident delivery.

Krillz’s loyalty to his crew is a prominent theme in Boujee, and he doesn’t shy away from calling out fair-weather friends who only surface when the money does. He emphatically raps, “Just fam, I ain’t got no friends, you’re testin’ me? Then you’re testin’ bro / You’re testin’ bro? Then you’re testin’ me / Don’t care if he’s right or wrong, wrong or right I’ll defend my ski / Ain’t care when I had no bread / Now they’re all like ‘Do you remember me?’ when the gang pop out like Ecstasy.”

The visuals for Boujee are straightforward but highly effective, capturing Krillz and his crew enjoying their time while fending off a clingy girl vying for his attention and wealth. The rapper’s signature colour-coded outfit is yellow in the video, signalling that Boujee is a lit track designed to hype its audience.

Boujee is a captivating and charismatic track that solidifies Krillz’s place in the rap game. Its infectious energy and relatable themes make it a strong contender for the summer anthem of 2023, with its potential to get people dancing and singing along being undeniable.
