Juice WRLD & XXXTENTACION The Way: Lost Lines, Posthumous Release, and Lyrics Explained

When The Way was released for the five-year anniversary of Legends Never Die, it brought Juice WRLD and XXXTENTACION together again for only their second official collaboration, following the whoa (mind in awe) remix.

The track appears on the expanded edition of Legends Never Die, which also includes All Life Long, bringing the total to twenty-six tracks. Both songs dropped together as a two-pack on July 11.

The animated video, directed by Juice WRLD’s longtime photographer Steve Cannon with KDC Visions, keeps the focus on their words.

Juice and X appear as animated figures drifting through dark space with stars scattered around them.

Juice floats further away into the darkness until XXXTENTACION appears and pulls him back.

This does not come across as a rescue. They keep drifting in the same space, close but still surrounded by emptiness that feels as unresolved as the words they sing.

The repeated lines drive that feeling deeper. Juice says “I lost. I lost. I lost.” while X asks “Do you know the way?” over and over.

Juice’s verse is clear about what he was fighting. “Lost my mind, trapped in me. I don’t know what’s happening. I’ve been space traveling, tryna find some inner peace.”

He does not avoid the reality of what he put into his body. He says, “Mixin’ pills with the liquor, I’m finna risk it all. Still a cool dude, too smooth, just like olive oil.”

He follows that with, “My health ain’t my wealth ‘cause I’m rich in my bank but I’m bad with myself.”

He wrote about his risks the same way he lived them — open, even when it turned ugly.

The line “Welcome to my abyss. Filled with sins and trifling fake friends” fits how the video stays dark and unfinished.

X repeats “Time and time again, I am lost, my friend. Getting better, getting better, I’m getting better.”

It sounds like he is saying it for himself as much as anyone else.

The short, looping lines feel like they could have been pulled straight from pages he left behind.

His old notebook, confirmed by his team years after his death, showed how much he wrote about trying to find some peace that never really came.

The sense that they are still there for people who feel lost comes through without being forced.

When X pulls Juice back from drifting too far, it looks like a moment of connection, not salvation.

It leaves the feeling that their voices still float close for people who play these songs when they need to feel heard.

The song’s simple arrangement makes space for this. Nothing tries to smooth it over. The Party Never Ends, released before this, did not meet every fan’s hopes, but there is still more material likely to surface.

The Way does not change the debate about posthumous music. It does not resolve what they left behind.

It circles the same truth they shared when they were alive. The question “Do you know the way?” stays open to the last frame.

Juice WRLD The Way (feat. XXXTENTACION)

Intro: Juice WRLD
Uh, lost, I lost, I lost, I lost, I lost

Chorus: XXXTENTACION
Do you know the way?
Do you know the way?
Do you know the way?
Do you know the way?
Do you know the way?
Do you know the way?

Post-Chorus: XXXTENTACION
Time and time again
I am lost, my friend
Getting better
Getting better, I’m getting better, said
Time and time again
I am lost, my friend
Getting better
Getting better, I’m getting better, said (Trapped)

Refrain: Juice WRLD
Lost my mind, trapped in me
I don’t know what’s happening
I’ve been space traveling
Ah, tryna find some inner peace, inner pеace

Verse 1: Juice WRLD
Welcome to my abyss
Fillеd with sins and trifling
Fake friends, I hate them
Delete them all, erase them
I’m gettin’ lost in my abyss
Trials, tribulations, and suffering
Mayhem will break them
Words from the evil faces

Chorus: XXXTENTACION
Do you know the way?
Do you know the way?
Do you know the way? (Oh)
Do you know the way?
Do you know the way?
Do you know the way? (Oh)

Refrain: Juice WRLD
Lost my mind, trapped in me
I don’t know what’s happening
I’ve been space traveling
Ah, tryna find some inner peace, inner peace

Verse 2: Juice WRLD
It’s pain in those words, you can hear it when I talk
But what’s a life to live if you don’t got no risk involved?
And what’s a slit to make if you don’t got no wrist involved?
Mixin’ pills with the liquor, fuck, I’m finna risk it all
Still a cool dude, too smooth, just like olive oil
Known to pop pills, pop niggas, and pop ollies, boy
And, bitch, I speak for myself, but my health ain’t my wealth
‘Cause I’m rich in my bank, but I’m bad with myself (Oh)

Chorus: XXXTENTACION
Do you know the way? (Lost, I lost)
Do you know the way?
Do you know the way? (Oh)
Do you know the way?
Do you know the way?
Do you know the way?

Post-Chorus: XXXTENTACION
Time and time again
I am lost, my friend
Getting better
Getting better, I’m getting better, said
Time and time again
I am lost, my friend (Lost, I lost)
Getting better
Getting better, I’m getting better, said
