“I was listening to a lot of AfroBeat/Afro Pop music at the time, and I wanted to create musically similar to what I was listening to. I created the beat around 1am. After I mixed the beat a little bit, I decided to record on it. I was so tired that it took me a couple of hours to finish recording the song, as I took 20 minute naps in between takes. I love how the song sounded once I mastered it. Also, with the verses, I rapped on it because I wanted to bring my core genre into the song.” – IfeFinch
