Get Your Dancing Shoes On For One-Time-Only Event – eLectronic Singularity
November 15th is a date you should save in your diary and eLectronic singularity is the event you need to go to. It’s an exclusive, one-time-only event featuring live music in the heart of London from international artists Northern Kind (England), Future Perfect (Wales) and Johan Baeckström (Sweden). It will be a melting pot of sounds and cultures rooted in electronica and synth-pop.
Northern Kind
Leicester-based Electronic duo Matt Culpin and Sarah Heeley are otherwise known as Northern Kind. They have been making music since their formation in 2006 and popular early albums ‘53 Degrees North’ and ‘Wired’ smashed the album and download charts across Europe and ensured a global fan base for the pair. Released in 2013, Northern Kind’s third album ‘Credible Sexy Unit’, received much acclaim from tastemakers across the electronic music scene.
Live performances have included a UK tour with pop legends Kajagoogoo, Recoil with Alan Wilder (ex-Depeche Mode) and Gary Numan at Postbahnhof, Berlin, and Heaven 17 at the 2013 Silicon Dreams Festival.
In 2014, Sarah decided to leave the band to focus on yoga teacher training and traveling. However, late last year rumours were flying via social media about a possible reunion and new music on the cards. In March 2019 new single ‘Lip Service’ was released and ‘The Feeling’ in June which proves the talented duo are bigger and brighter than ever.
See Northern Kind on November 15th at eLectronic singularity and enjoy the live performance everyone will be talking about.
Johan Baeckström
Johan Baeckström formed the Swedish electropop duo Daily Planet together with vocalist Jarmo Ollila in the early 90s. The pair has had three acclaimed albums to their name, the first being ‘The Tide’ released in 1996 and then their second album ‘Two’ on Swedish label Progress Productions, much later in 2014, followed by ‘Play Rewind Repeat’ in May 2017. Johan also released some solo albums in between, ‘Like Before’ in June 2015 and ‘Utopia’ in June 2018.
Johan specialises in gloriously rich and decadent synth-pop / electronica with a seductive retro edge. He is sure to set the stage alight at eLectronic singularity next month.
Future Perfect
Future Perfect is made up of husband and wife duo Simon & Rebecca Owen and they create the ultimate electronic, synth-pop sound.
The couple formed Future Perfect in 2009 and took various influences from music maestros Joy Division, Depeche Mode, early O.M.D and Pet Shop Boys from lyrics, to experimentation and style.
2010 saw the release of their debut CD, ‘Dirty Little Secrets’ and it was followed up by ‘Escape’ which expanded on their sound and let to the single release and remixes of ‘Paradise’. They released ‘After The Fall’ in 2015.
For the past few years, Simon and Rebecca have enjoyed playing numerous gigs throughout the UK including an incredible performance at Silicon Dreams Festival where they were joined by Parralox amongst others. They have also played at Electric Dreams Weekend alongside The Human League, Avec Sans and many other great bands, with four new tracks premiering from their album, ‘Touch’.
Future Perfect has recently released rip-roaring singles including ‘Rip’, ‘Touch’, ‘Assassin’s Eyes’, ‘Victoria’ and ‘Sin (Where Angels Fall)’. They will be bringing their talent and flair to eLectronic singularity on November 15th.
