Florence Road Storm Warnings: Love’s Dark Tempest

Florence Road Turns Heartbreak Into a Hurricane on Storm Warnings
By Alex HarrisDecember 18, 2025
Florence Road Storm Warnings: Love's Dark Tempest

Irish quartet Florence Road channel emotional turbulence into atmospheric alt-rock on “Storm Warnings,” released 14 November 2025.

The Bray, County Wicklow band, Lily Aron (vocals), Emma Brandon (guitar), Ailbhe Barry (bass) and Hannah Kelly (drums), bring their signature raw intensity to a track that navigates the uneasy terrain of heartbreak and anxious self-reflection.

Storm Warnings was written collectively by all four members and produced by Dan Wilson.

Wilson’s production frames the group’s layered guitars and emotionally charged melodies with clarity and dynamic breadth, letting the band’s expressive strengths shine.

The accompanying music video, directed by Willow Kenedy, drops the band directly into the elements, with windswept landscapes and rugged coastal vistas that mirror the song’s emotional force.

Shot against the wild coast of Dingle, County Kerry, the visuals amplify the song’s sense of confrontation and release, placing Florence Road in a setting as beauty-soaked as it is untamed.

Their music often explores the tensions between inner fragility and outward strength, a theme that Storm Warnings embodies through its somber verses and swelling climaxes.

While the track taps alt-rock sensibilities, it also reflects contemporary indie moods, giving listeners an immersive blend of moodiness and melodic immediacy.

Florence Road first attracted attention through social media, building an early profile by posting covers online before breaking through with original releases.

Earlier in 2025, they released their debut EP “Fall Back” in June and followed with singles like “Miss” and “Break The Girl.”

Their profile has risen quickly: the band was longlisted on BBC’s Sound of 2026 and has completed standout live dates, including headline shows and support slots for acts such as Wolf Alice and Olivia Rodrigo.

Storm Warnings continues to expand their sound and reach, capturing emotional complexity with a cinematic edge that underscores Florence Road’s momentum as a defining new voice in indie rock.
