Deer Fellow’s latest single, The Culprit, is a guilt-ridden introspective indie folk-pop song that will surely leave a lasting impression on listeners. With bouncy guitar rhythms and playful percussion, the track delivers a modern folk charm that will enchant fans of the genre.

As the lyrics weave a web of self-deprecation, Deer Fellow‘s Matt Salois’s vocals take center stage, delivering an emotional and powerful performance.

The song’s writer and vocalist, Matt Salois, speaks to the track’s relatability, “there is something freeing about taking ownership of your mistakes and lessening the grudges you hold against the world.”

Despite the self-critical nature of the lyrics, he reminds listeners that they don’t need to assign all the blame to themselves but instead can use the track as a reminder to lessen resentment towards others.

Produced by Matt and Alyssa Kelly, who also lends her beautiful harmonies, violin, and piano to the track, The Culprit is the third single from the group’s highly anticipated sophomore EP, Unraveling. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Erik Wofford of Cacophony Recorders, the track is a heartrendingly radiant and powerfully emotive showcase of Deer Fellow’s signature sound.

The Culprit is a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant track that showcases Deer Fellow’s exceptional songwriting and musical talents. Fans of indie folk-pop will undoubtedly find themselves captivated by the band’s heart-wrenching sound and powerful message.
