Clare Bowen Releases Her Glorious Self-Titled Debut Album

By Lucy LernerSeptember 3, 2018

From Nashville to the UK – singer-songwriter, actress, and star of the TV series ‘Nashville’ Clare Bowen will be gracing our shores with her beautiful voice this month. And to top it off she has just released her debut album in the UK in time for her first ever UK headline tour.

Best known for her leading role as Scarlett O’ Connor on the hugely popular TV series ‘Nashville’ which has just come to an end after six series, Australian-born Clare Bowen stands out with her stunningly powerful yet gentle vocals and graceful demeanour.

Bowen was writing her solo debut album during her time on Nashville and the project incorporates a variety of genres from folk to pop to country and she tells stories from song to song; some deeply personal and others we can all relate to. Her sugar coated, clearcut vocals stand out of course, but so do the various tones and no track ever seeps into the next.

The album features Bowen’s latest single ‘Let It Rain’ (was debuted on the legendary Bob Harris’ Radio 2 show) which is a strong Americana intro. Other standout tracks include the atmospheric ‘Doors Corridors’ which feature interesting instrumentals and a catchy melody. ‘Tide Rolls In’ is a punchy, rock-tinged track which builds to a crescendo. ‘All The Beds I’ve Made’ features stunning vocals and an intricate duet with Bowen’s husband Brandon Young. There is also the beautifully introspective ‘Lullaby’ and the powerful ‘Warrior’ which rounds off the album perfectly.

There is something incredibly charming about Bowen and this impressive debut album gives us the chance to discover more about her as a singer-songwriter as she steps out of Scarlett O’ Connor’s shadow and firmly in the spotlight as Clare Bowen.
