Break With Me Is An Intimate Song From SHY Martin

Break With Me Is An Intimate Song From SHY Martin

Bedroom pop is on the rise. Encapsulating dreamy, hazy, blissful vibes Break With Me by SHY Martin is the perfect example of this genre. The Swedish songwriter’s sweet and vulnerable vocals linger over spacious, lo-fi acoustics.

Break With Me is about separation anxiety and feels even more poignant these days. Lyrics are heartbreaking, especially the way SHY Martin delivers them, “Stay with me, break with me now, cause it’s hurting when you let go, hold my heart, just for a while, before you let it let go.”

SHY Martin speaks about her new single, “This year has been overwhelming in many ways. For the first time in years, I have spent a lot of time with myself and taken the space to reflect. I have thought a lot about how these strange times we are in have changed so many relationships, some that have become stronger, and others that have broken down. We started writing “Break With Me” one summer evening in the car on the way home from a lake, but I relate to it now more than ever”, She continues. “During the year, I also thought about how I want to work with my music and chose to start my own record label to have full freedom every step of the way. This is the first song I will release on my own label, so it feels very special.”

The visuals show clips filmed by SHY Martin and her friends in Stockholm during the pandemic.

Break With Me is the first single released on SHY Martin’s new record label SHY Recordings.
