Amaroun Just Wants To Talk

By Lucy LernerApril 6, 2020
Amaroun Just Wants To Talk

Amaroun Just Wants To TalkAmaroun can be relied on for releasing innovative and thought-provoking music. Her new single Talk is no exception. A heartfelt piece, it focuses on a breakdown of communication between two people. It’s very relatable, whether it be about lovers, friends, family members or other situations. At times like this, people are talking more than ever and this song is even more relevant.

“You don’t wanna talk about that,
Don’t wanna talk about anything,
I just wanna talk about us,
I just wanna talk about love”

Amaroun (aka Jay Brown) exudes an honesty in her music. Her vocals are soft and raw but reiterate the point she is making. Talk smudges the lines of electronica and indie-pop with a moreish melody and intertwining harmonies. It portrays intense vulnerability and a magnetic pull that’s hard to resist.

“Whenever I sing this song it takes me back to those moments and makes me realise
how important talking is to keep your connection alive”
– Amaroun

Talk is Amaroun’s third single release this year, co-written with Charles Watson (Slowclub) and produced by Charlie Andrew (Alt J, Matt Corby, Maricka Hackman).

“I have no regrets, I learned so much about what I wanted from these experiences and use them to inform my own self growth and how I approach the beautiful connections with people I have today” – Amaroun
