A Stunning Acoustic Piano Version Of ‘Told Me’ From Dusky Grey

A Stunning Acoustic Piano Version Of 'Told Me' From Dusky Grey

Listen to the stunning acoustic version of ‘Told Me’, the debut single from Welsh pop duo Dusky Grey who released it independently exactly one year ago.

It has been an incredible year for Gethin Williams and Catrin Hopkins who make up Dusky Grey. They wrote the song during their third meeting together September last year. Catrin first got in touch with Gethin after seeing some of his music on Instagram and reached out to him via Facebook.

It took another year before the duo decided to meet in person and then Dusky Grey was formed. The follow up single to ‘Told Me’ was ‘Call Me Over’ and other highlights of this year include being selected as BBC Radio 1’s Introducing ‘Track of the Week’ for ‘Call Me Over’, Spotify New Music Friday UK and Apple’s Best New UK, A-List BBC Radio Wales, Sunday Brunch video play, support from tastemakers including Pop Justice, Earmilk, TMRW Magazine and  making it on to The Times – Essential Tracks playlist as well as signing with East West / Warner Music Group.

Speaking about this whirlwind year, Dusky Grey says, “It’s been a whole year of us being a band and we could not be more excited about what we’ve done and what’s to come. We’ve grown a lot this year and our music continues to grow with us and we can’t wait to share it with you. Next year we’re going to be taking everything on stage and hope you’ll join us“.

Dusky Grey has bounded onto the music scene with their distinctive, memorable songs. This sublime stripped back acoustic piano version of ‘Told Me’ really highlights Gethin and Catrin’s beautiful vocals and the song is elevated and even more heartfelt than the original pop-driven version. Dusky Grey have an even more exciting year ahead of them.
