A Retro Take On Love With The ‘Faded’ Visuals By Lyves

By Montana TallentireAugust 9, 2019

Inspired by the music that pioneered the 70s and 80s, singer-songwriter and prouder Lyves makes a sensational return from supporting Coldplay on their European tour with the beautiful music video of her single ‘Faded’. Lyves powerful narrative of fading love takes the listener on a journey of hope in which overcasts the shadows of denial.

The shimmering tones of percussion overlaid with the disco-inspired guitar riffs and smooth bass provide a beautifully arranged live instrumentation in which Lyves vocals can swerve in and out of, taking the listener along with her on her migration through faded love.

The experience of using live instrumentation throughout the whole process of the song opened a new way of producing music. With Lyves stating: “Every part on the record was played live and their playing felt so colourful and expanded my grasp of the music – inspiring my vocal performance and where I felt I could go. I felt like I got a glimpse into a new space musically. I would like to create more records in this live context.”

With a new way of music production influencing her direction, it will be interesting to see what more is in store from this talented artist.
