Notting Hill Carnival is the world-famous event that has run since 1966 is a celebration of music, dance, and colour. With up to 2 million people traveling globally to see live performances on over 70 stages, 15,000 costumes and to drink a lot of Red Stripe Beer. It has the reputation of being one of the best carnivals in the world and this year was no exception. As soon as you approached Notting Hill you hear the steel drums and the energy of the music takes over transporting you from your everyday life into one of vibrant colour.

This year for the first time, CASA BACARDÍ was held as part of Bacardi’s Europe-wide music campaign ‘Do What Makes You’ in Powis Square. A prime location for all things musical within the carnival. Multiple acts were playing with eccentric outfits and outgoing personalities that radiated their love for Calypso and Caribbean music. Unlike the streets surrounding, CASA BACARDÍ created a laid-back environment in which people could observe and take in the music around them. Whilst sipping on coconut drinks, watching acts in sparkling attire and huge headpieces it was easy to forget that you were in the center of London.

There were performances from Jamaican dancehall musician Mr Vegas, hip hop and reggae artist Serocee, DJ and MC from the award-win Flagz Mas Band, plus tunes from DJ Jamz Supernova. And surprise from artists including Major Lazer ft. Mr Eazi, Giggs and Stefflon Don. Rita Ora watched the action from the side of the stage with a group of friends. It certainly was a festival to remember.
