Sasha & The Bear’s Get ‘Em: A Raw Confession That Cuts Deep

By Lucy LernerFebruary 14, 2025
Sasha & The Bear's Get 'Em: A Raw Confession That Cuts Deep

The quiet after the chaos isn’t always peaceful. Sometimes it’s a deafening silence filled with “what-ifs” and “should-haves”.

And that’s exactly where Sasha & The Bear‘s latest single Get ‘Em lives and breathes.

Released as the first glimpse into their third EP, Get ‘Em catches you off guard with its deceptively simple opening.

A gentle guitar riff tricks you into thinking you’re in for a mellower ride, but don’t get too comfortable. This track has other plans.

“Miss you on a Saturday / I’m alone, I’m out to play” might sound like your typical post-breakup narrative, but there’s something refreshingly honest about how the duo approaches regret.

The way they weave imagery of “bodies on the third floor” with memories of past connections creates this beautifully messy picture of trying to move on while being stuck in place.

The production on Get ‘Em feels like someone took a polaroid of sound – slightly fuzzy around the edges, but capturing something raw and real.

When the chorus kicks in with “It was our sun that burnt away / We didn’t notice anyway,” the band lets the instrumental arrangement mirror that slow-burning realisation of a relationship’s end.

The song is a reminder that sometimes the most powerful moments come not from the storm itself, but from sorting through the debris it leaves behind.

And Sasha & The Bear have managed to encapsulate that feeling perfectly in Get ‘Em.

Whether you’re nursing your own heartbreak or appreciate music that doesn’t shy away from emotional complexity, Get ‘Em deserves a spot on your playlist.

It’s an honest snapshot of that moment when you finally admit, “yeah, I messed up too.”

Sasha & The Bear Get ‘Em Lyrics

Miss you on a Saturday
I’m alone, I’m out to play
Bodies on the third floor
smells the same
I want more
Fell apart, after all
how it feels to be small
Cause she’s always in my head
What the hell I have said
It was our sun that burnt away
We didn’t notice anyway
How we changed and slipped to blame
At the end of the day
I coulda waited
But I let you go
I coulda held you
On that day
there is no one else to blame
And there is nothing left for us to say
Walking streets that I call home
I tried to tell you something
