Honeymoon Phase Is A Sentimental Song From OSKA and Stu Larsen

Honeymoon Phase Is A Sentimental Song From OSKA and Stu Larsen

Nothing beats a sentimental duet and OSKA and Stu Larsen have captured pure love and beauty in new single Honeymoon Phase. Vienna-based singer-songwriter OSKA and nomadic singer-songwriter Stu Larsen got together in Vienna to make not just one stunning song but two.

OSKA described the collaboration, “A lot can happen in only one day. Stu Larsen and I were meant to record one song in one day. We decided to record two songs instead and put them together – classic overachievers.” Stu Larsen adds, “I am very thankful for that one day in Vienna. OSKA is special, and I feel lucky for the chance to meet and record together to get a glimpse of her world. For me, these two songs feel right together.”

The song is full of juxtapositions – it’s spacious, yet intimate with raw yet delicate vocals. Lyrics reflect on how a relationship can change and how you yearn for the beginning when it’s fresh and new. However, in remembering those feelings and trying to recapture them, you end up losing who you are and falling apart. It’s the kind of song that makes you ache with feeling and nostalgia. The rippling piano ties it all together in a pretty bow, but it’s the way the two artists complement and bounce-off each other that does it for me.

“but let me say, I really loved our honeymoon phase.”
