Simon XO releases his new single Runaway Jane (two) – a mellow song driven by the acoustic guitar and piano. With an indie-folk feel with a splah of Americana, Runaway Jane (two) is the first single from a dual-EP Simon XO is releasing this fall.
The young artist from San Diego shares personal life experiences and wears his heart on his sleeve with his music and Runaway Jane (two) is no different. It’s beautifully crafted with gentle lyrics which tell an intriguing narrative, “Runaway Jane if that’s your real name, how long can you hold on?”
“It’s inspired by a few of the people close in my life who’ve experienced some form of trauma in their childhood, and the repercussive effects that have haunted them through adulthood. I tried to capture an innocence in the music that surrounds the vocal, with anonymous organs and single-note piano lines.” – Simon XO
