Australian Outfit Forrest Run Releases Eclectic New Single ‘Leave the Lights’

By Marcus AdetolaFebruary 16, 2020
Forrest Run

Forrest RunWhile some artists fit exclusively into genres, others adopt an audacious approach by making music that’s difficult to categorise by genre. Musicians have been doing this for a long time, but there’s a mesmerising new catalogue of artists today defying music genres in fascinating ways.

And what’s not to love about Forrest Runs latest release ‘Leave the Lights’? It’s the perfect fusion of genres that works on every turn and, boy, does it sound so good. And it’s not surprising once you know the trio that makes up the band – hip-hop producer Judah, multi-instrumentalist Jayke and indie-pop vocalist Ayla who delivers pitch-perfect vocals with impeccable timing on the sweet and catchy instrumentals.

The sync is so effortless it shows the organic roots of the Australian band which came to be in 2017 in Judah’s home. The following year they released their debut EP which by all accounts is well worth a listen.

Forrest Run is currently recording their sophomore EP and we are excited to see what direction they take next.
