Twisted Metal Season 2: Sweet Tooth’s Back and He’s Bringing The Whole Circus

Twisted Metal Season 2: Sweet Tooth's Back and He's Bringing The Whole Circus

Remember how Twisted Metal’s first season surprisingly worked? Well, Peacock’s about to double down on the mayhem, dropping a teaser that feels like someone strapped rockets to an ice cream truck.

Twisted Metal Season 2 Release Date Just Dropped

Summer 2025. That’s when we’ll see Anthony Mackie’s John Doe enter what might be TV’s most destructive tournament since that time your uncle tried to “fix” the game show network.

The series wrapped early in October 2024, meaning we’ve got 12 episodes of vehicular chaos ready to roll.

“Will There Be a Season 2 of Twisted Metal?” Mate, It’s Already Mental

Not only is it happening, but they’re finally bringing us the tournament.

You know, the actual reason anyone ever strapped missiles to a car in this franchise.

Showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith seems pretty chuffed about it:

“The stakes couldn’t be higher as John and Quiet risk their lives to compete in the dangerous demolition derby tournament. The prize? A single wish, their greatest heart’s desire, granted. The only problem is sixteen other drivers have wishes of their own. In a fast-paced, hysterical, thrilling season with unforgettable characters, it’s too bad not all of them will survive.”

Season Two’s Cast: Everyone You Love (Plus Some People You’re About to Love)

Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz are back, with Samoa Joe still bringing Sweet Tooth’s physical menace while Will Arnett handles the cackling.

But here’s where it gets interesting as they’ve nabbed Anthony Carrigan (yes, NoHo Hank himself) to play Calypso.

If you’re not grinning at that casting, you might need to check your pulse.

New faces in the demolition derby:

  • Tiana Okoye as Dollface (John’s sister – because family reunions weren’t complicated enough)
  • Richard de Klerk as Mr. Grimm
  • Michael James Shaw as Axel
  • Patty Guggenheim and Lisa Gilroy (roles TBA, but given this show’s track record, expect chaos)

What’s Actually Coming in Season 2? Absolute Carnage

Remember Axel from the games? The bloke who’s basically strapped between two massive wheels like some post-apocalyptic chariot racer? They’re actually doing it.

The absolute madlads are bringing that ridiculous vehicle design to life, and honestly?

That’s exactly the kind of commitment to chaos this show needs.

The teaser’s packed with vehicles that’ll have game fans pointing at their screens:

  • Sweet Tooth’s nightmare ice cream truck
  • Axel’s “how does that even work” two-wheel wonder
  • Mr. Grimm’s motorcycle
  • A mysterious Beetle
  • Roach Coach (because food trucks weren’t dangerous enough)
  • Junkyard Dog
  • An ATV that’s definitely seen better days

While Season 1 set up this bonkers world, Season 2’s diving straight into the tournament.

Sixteen drivers, one wish each, and enough explosions to make Michael Bay blush.

Plus, John’s got to deal with his long-lost sister showing up – because nothing makes family therapy more interesting than adding rocket launchers.

Directors Phil Sgriccia, Bill Benz, Iain B. MacDonald, and Bertie Ellwood are handling this demolition derby, and from what the teaser shows, they’re not holding back on the insanity.

Between Carrigan’s Calypso running the show, Axel’s impossible vehicle actually existing, and the promise of Sweet Tooth having fifteen new targets to chase, Season 2 looks ready to take everything that made the first season work and crank it up to eleven.

Which, given this show’s track record, is exactly what it should do.

Now we just have to wait until summer to see how many cars they actually blew up making this thing.
