The Terminal List Season 2: Chris Pratt’s Return, Plot Twists, and Everything We Know So Far

Chris Pratt returns as James Reece, but The Terminal List Season 2 faces delays—expect twists and a 2026 release.

If you’re excited for the return of The Terminal List, you’re in for a bit of a wait. Chris Pratt is busy—and not just with acting.

Between filming retro-futuristic Netflix movies and enjoying his beloved lasagna (yes, really), his schedule is packed.

Unfortunately, that means filming for Season 2 won’t even begin until May 20th, 2025, continuing through August, which pushes the release to early 2026.

Why the Delay?

Almost four years between seasons isn’t ideal—fans might start forgetting why they loved the show in the first place—but at least there’s reassurance straight from Pratt.

In an interview with Collider, he explained he’ll spend most of 2025 filming, interspersed with family breaks.

So, hold tight; we won’t see James Reece’s next explosive chapter until spring 2026.

What’s Going On with Season 2?

James Reece is back, swapping life on the run for a complicated return to CIA operations.

Season 2 adapts Jack Carr’s novel True Believer, where Reece gets tangled in international chaos after a terror attack devastates London’s holiday market.

The fallout? Global instability, high-stakes politics, and a mission Reece can’t refuse, even if he’d rather stay hidden away somewhere tropical.

But this isn’t a simple good guy versus bad guy story. The new villain, a mysterious Iraqi commando, drags Reece into a web of global conspiracies thicker than your average spy flick.

CIA secrets? Check. Betrayals galore? Double check. The plot promises enough twists to make your head spin.

Cast Returns and New Characters to Expect

Obviously, Pratt returns as Reece, alongside familiar faces like JD Pardo as FBI agent Tony Layun—ally, adversary, it depends on the day—and potentially Constance Wu as journalist Katie Buranek, though details there are still hush-hush.

Expect fresh characters too: CIA agents, international spies, and shadowy figures from Reece’s past who aren’t exactly welcome sights.

Plus, fans of intense action sequences won’t be disappointed, as Jack Carr’s gritty style promises even more explosive set-pieces this time around.

While the wait drags on, Amazon’s cooking up something extra. Dark Wolf, a prequel series exploring Ben Edwards’ descent from loyal Navy SEAL buddy to CIA betrayer, is already wrapped filming.

Taylor Kitsch reprises his role, digging into Edwards’ complex past with the occasional Chris Pratt cameo via flashbacks. Consider it a tasty appetizer before the main course.

When’s It Actually Dropping?

Expect to stream Season 2 sometime in early 2026. It feels like forever, sure, but it’s enough time for a leisurely binge re-watch of Season 1 to refresh your memory.

Amazon Prime clearly knows they’ve got a potential powerhouse here.

With gripping plots, genuine military authenticity, and Chris Pratt’s charisma front and centre, The Terminal List is set to become a streaming juggernaut—once it finally arrives.

But if we’ve learned anything from thrillers, it’s that suspense is half the fun.

Until then, patience is your friend.
