Tate McRae
Canadian singer-songwriter and dancer Tate McRae (born July 1 2003 in Calgary) began her career as a standout young dancer before transitioning into music.
She uploaded original songs on YouTube, signed with RCA Records in 2019 and broke out with the hit “You Broke Me First”, leading to her 2022 debut album I Used to Think I Could Fly.
Her bold, emotionally raw pop sound, blended with her dance roots, has earned her a rapidly growing global fanbase.
With her 2023 album Think Later and the 2025 follow-up So Close to What, she continues to evolve her artistry, pushing into broader pop territory while staying grounded in the vulnerability and melodic immediacy that first drew attention.
