Seaside Eyes Is A Love Letter From Bertie Newman

Seaside Eyes Is A Love Letter From Bertie Newman

Music is an expressive art that mirrors emotions inspired by one’s feelings. There is no doubt about the sense of warmth that oozes from the folk-inspired Seaside Eyes by London-born singer-songwriter Bertie Newman.

You can tell the song comes from a place of emotional comfort and satisfaction. It is a gratifying love letter of adoration and thanks with honest and relatable lyrics that possess a depth of vulnerability. The soundscape with lush vocals and tranquil guitar acoustics reflect the essence of the track.

Bertie Newman reflects on previous toxic and failed relationships and finally finding someone who is right for him and how good it feels. He says, “Seaside Eyes is literally in reference to her eye color, and the fact that she used to live by the ocean. Our first holiday together was in her hometown next to the sea, so it only felt right to write a song about it. The song reflects the feelings of joy and pure contentment when around this person. It also talks more deeply about the parts of me that I thought could never be fixed, but are now repaired. “I’m just a machine, and you’re all the parts that I will ever need”.

It is about finding that one person that you just click with and understands you to the tenth degree. The main concept that runs throughout the song, is the disbelief of finding that ‘perfect person’, explored by lyrics such as “you’re that pretty girl from a movie scene.”

Seaside Eyes is out now.
