Patrol by Sarah von Reis moves with the weight of a restless night.

The track carries a melancholic atmosphere, with piano chords laying a foundation for shimmering synth textures and steady percussion.

A waltz-like rhythm gives the song a hypnotic sway, pulling listeners into its uneasy momentum.

There’s an urgency in the pacing, yet the sound remains warm, creating a push-and-pull between tension and release.

“Patrol is about a sleepless and waking night in a relationship where everything is coming to a head,” von Reis explains.

“When the ugly stuff you both are carrying no longer can be swept away so you say, f*ck it, and let the destructive stuff get air in hope to become free together.”

That raw honesty threads through the song’s structure, leading to a gradual crescendo where von Reis’ velvety vocals hold steady, even as the emotion intensifies.

With its dreamy yet haunting quality, Patrol leans into contrast—organic instrumentation against an electronic soundscape, light colliding with darkness.

It’s a fitting final single before her debut album Fish Food, set for release on March 28.
