Sailing Through Sounds: Steven Malcolm Unveils New Album BOATS

Hip-hop artist Steven Malcolm is celebrated for his diverse, multi-cultural style and self-expressive song writing rooted in his Christian beliefs. In his showstopping new album BOATS Steven’s fourth collective is no exception. Malcolm takes his signature brand of salacious hip-hop to an exciting new realm, seamlessly diverting between genres and portraying a brand new dimension of soon-to-be hits.

BOATS is an enigmatic sonic journey, inviting the listener along the way. Malcolm was the first rapper to join a roster of faith-based hip-hop artists on Curb Records and has since emerged with a remarkable interpretation of the rap genre. On this stunning new album, Malcolm is steering down an unparalleled melodic route, blending a mixture of experimental trip-hop and rap with mainstream hip-hop. Rhythmically, it recalls several influences, ranging from Latin to African to traditional R&B. This solitary influx of aspects provides BOATS with dynamic soundscapes, portraying the artist’s renowned flexibility.

High points of BOATS can be measured by each song’s unique flair. Soaked with a cosmic amount of avidly memorable hip-hop gems, it’s difficult to choose one stand-out single. Better Days is bubbling with soft-focus synths and sugar-sweet vocals, depicting his religious views on hope, which shifts up a gear on Story of A Rider, filled with a sharp influx of sound effects, bass-led verses and echoed, impactful rap flow. The transition between contrasting moods keeps the listener hooked, experimenting whilst creating a recognizable sound Malcolm is bound to explore in upcoming work.

Malcolm’s vivacious Christian Hip-Hop is a new sub-genre within itself, which has become more detailed and distinctive on BOATS. Whether you’ve been inspired to turn a negative into a positive from Nothing Into Something or celebrate the pure simplicities of life on Everything I Need, the award-winning artist can do no wrong with this latest offering.

Having collaborated with iconic hip-hop artists such as Shaggy, Snoop Dogg, and Anderson Michael on BOATS track Enough, Malcolm’s empowering song writing initially set the stage for acclaim and an exciting career ahead. With the addition of BOATS to his glittering discography, Steven Malcolm is truly ready to take hip-hop by storm.

Don’t miss out on hip-hop showpiece BOATS out now via Curb Records.
