Rose Brokenshire’s Habit to Help – A Musical Journey of Self-Compassion

By Emma ReynoldsFebruary 24, 2024
Rose Brokenshire's Habit to Help - A Musical Journey of Self-Compassion

This new release, Habit to Help, from Rose Brokenshire is absolutely beautiful. Her raspy gentle vocals paired with a folk backing track are so whimsical and calming. Brokenshire states: “The song is about learning to be there for yourself in difficult times, the way it is easy to be there for your friends. I am a Wildland Firefighter by profession and hope to one day pursue my music full time.” It is safe to say that her dream won’t be a dream for long if more music like this continues to be released!

In the last 9 years, Brokenshire has undertaken a career as a Wildland Firefighter – an extensively trained profession in which you are taught to combat and suppress wildfires that occur in rainforests, grasslands, and other wilderness areas – completely polar opposite to the gentle change in pace that the musician offers.

The song stands out not only for its musical craftsmanship but also for its emotional depth. Rose Brokenshire’s Habit to Help delivers a poignant message of learning to be there for oneself, even when faced with adversity.
