Reneé Rapp doesn’t just sing about luck on “Lucky,” she embodies its swagger. The rock-charged banger, written for Lionsgate’s Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, arrives with a confidence that feels earned.
It hits cinemas November 14, 2025, and Rapp’s track will blast through the end credits.
Out October 30 via Interscope Records, “Lucky” kicks off with guitar strings that crackle and spit over punchy drums.
There’s a restless energy here. Rapp’s vocals glide over the top with this deliberate coolness, almost like she’s letting you catch up, before the whole thing explodes into a hook that refuses to leave your head.
It works equally well soundtracking a high-stakes heist or your slightly chaotic morning drive.
With a production dream team of Ryan Tedder, Omer Fedi, and Alexander 23, “Lucky” manages a neat trick.
It has the high-gloss sheen a blockbuster demands, but they’ve wisely left some gritty, live-wire energy in the mix, keeping it from feeling too sanitised.
That playfulness suits the Now You See Me franchise‘s theatrical DNA perfectly, whilst Rapp’s delivery gives the illusion-soaked film world a sharper, modern edge.
“Lucky” caps off a monumental year for Rapp. Her sophomore album BITE ME topped charts in the UK and Netherlands, earned a 4.5-star review from Rolling Stone, and fuelled a sold-out arena tour that included Madison Square Garden.
She’s clearly hit her stride, moving from musical theatre origins to fully-fledged pop-rock powerhouse.
The song’s bridge, where Rapp sings “It’s almost like I’m Reneé,” is cheeky without being obnoxious.
It’s the kind of self-aware wink that mirrors the franchise’s knowing humour, proving she understands exactly what makes a great soundtrack moment tick.
