LUCIIA’s Debut Single SAME THING NEW MAN: An Empowered Breakthrough

LUCIIA's Debut Single SAME THING NEW MAN: An Empowered Breakthrough

Swedish Grammy nominee LUCIIA strikes a resonant chord with her debut single SAME THING NEW MAN, a soulful ballad that serves as a stunning introduction to her upcoming EP WITH II EYES, slated for an October release. Riding the waves of nostalgic R&B fused with cutting-edge sonics, LUCIIA’s voice emerges as a poignant powerhouse, straddling the line between empowerment and heartache.

The track is about a woman reclaiming her identity after a toxic relationship and is simultaneously a war cry and a ballad. It’s a sonic punch to the gut from an infectious beat paired with a sultry groove that will have listeners involuntarily tapping their feet.

Borrowing from her Cuban-Swedish heritage and diverse musical influences, LUCIIA crafts a sound that’s as culturally rich as it is deeply personal. From the pulsating streets of Havana to the cool vibes of Malmö, her music is a symphony of her life experiences, with each note imbued with a piece of her journey.

LUCIIA’s prowess has not gone unnoticed. Handpicked by Coldplay to be their opening act for their July shows in Sweden, she’s a rising star that’s already shining brightly. And now, with SAME THING NEW MAN, she has drawn back the curtain to reveal an artist that’s as complex as she is compelling.

LUCIIA – SAME THING NEW MAN (Official Music Video)

The music video, which John Jamal-Gille directed, is a black-and-white narrative that weaves together with LUCIIA’s performance and perfectly echoes the song’s central message of self-love and confidence. It’s a stunning visual companion that doesn’t just complement the track but rather brings it to life.

As LUCIIA herself says about the song, “My self-confidence is starting to emerge, and the lyrics are written with a sense that what I receive in relationships is never enough. I feel misunderstood again and again, and with that comes men who don’t quite know how to approach me. In the song, I express that frustration.”

As a soulful ballad wrapped in a rebellious anthem, SAME THING NEW MAN marks an electrifying start for LUCIIA’s forthcoming EP. It’s a sign of a promising journey, and we can’t wait to see where the rest of WITH II EYES will lead us. Stay tuned for more updates on this rising star as she continues to redefine the boundaries of R&B with her distinctive blend of the traditional and the contemporary.
